Leona is a 16th century Englishwoman with wanderlust. Much of her time has been spent wandering the oceans in service to captain and Crown aboard Master Michael St. Christian's ship, The Star Dogg'd Moon, seeing distant lands and fighting foreign wars with blade skills earned through years of training with the academy with which she belonged, The Black Isle Academy of Defense. She is also a member of the melee fighting unit, The Hellhounds.
Due to her wandering heart and the need to know ALL THE THINGS she has many loves and interests from a wide range of places and times: Islamic pottery (mostly mid to late period work), pottery in general, Japanese history and culture, Japanese archery, tablet weaving, 'Middle Eastern' clothing (late period Ottoman Turkish focus but interested in learning about Persian of that same timeframe), a curiosity of Norse cultures and clothing, the occasional passing bug to embroider, and of course, the thing that brought her to the SCA (other than her husband saying 'hey this is cool, try this!' way back), fencing.
((general things I like stylistically: lions, cats in general, my colors green/white/black, roses, lilacs, koi, Japanese calligraphy/brushwork, bodies of water, storms)) |
