I have changed my name from Kateryn of Cornwall to Kateryn of the Amber Mists in September of 2010 in order to honor the man who gave me use of that name one year earlier when I was stepping down as Matriartch of Shadewes Company, THL Cian of the Amber Mists. He was a great man and a great inspiration and I wanted to change for all the name he gave me to honor him.
Kateryn is a 12th Centruty Cornish Merchants daughter with a need to travel and see the world herself. As such, I ended up joining Shadewes Company, a mercenary household, where I eventually became its Matriarch. I served as Matriarch for the Household for 12 years before stepping down to be replaced by two Patriarchs. When the Household split in early 2013 (the device Household and the name Household) I chose to stay with Shadewes Company. I have served as landed Baroness for Caer Anterth Mawr and have recently been informed I will have the honor to do so again, as chosen by TRM Hrodir and Anne. I enjoy illumination and calligraphy, sewing, B&V and many other aspects of life in the SCA. |
