Dear friends,

I deal with health stuff. If you can give me a heads up before calling me into court, that’s helpful. :)

Additionally, I love sharing resources and techniques related to my craft, and am happy to help if anyone needs my assistance. The best ways to contact me are by Facebook messenger or by text- 608-214-2888
Warm thanks.

⚔️♥️⚔️

Milka Mariia Krasnaia (Also considering the last name of Godunova so when people call me “Goda” it fits both my personas, lol)

Primarily 15th c Muscovite Rus (Moscow and Novgorod). Lower boyar family of Novgorod, sided with lower classes during annexation to Moscow, and were rewarded with an increase in lands outside Novgorod. Travel to and fro Moscow for administrative and trade purposes. Married.

 - I will also use this persona when adventuring in Kievan Rus (basically just at Haustblot), transitioning to 12th century for short bursts of time. :)

Foundational garments for this persona:

Completed-
  • a classic Rubakah- linen with red embroidery. Extra long sleeves, pushed up. Red edging and red embroidery. Rus cut. Worn belted as primary clothing item for kievan era. Worn as an under layer in Muscovite period. Above the ankle in length.
  • Porshni. Rus slipper type shoes of soft leather, with laces. Completed two pairs, one of a low quality composite leather (test pair) and one of suede (not period, but available, and they are comfortable!). Future pairs of higher quality leather, and may be highly embellished with embroidery, per the Novgorod finds. Ok for Kievan through Muscovite periods.
  • Hat with fur. I made it reversible, tabby woven wool on one side and suede on the other, with beaver fur trim. In period, this likely would have been fully beaver lined, but I prefer the reversible option.
  • Green cotton velveteen letnik with fur trim and beadwork. This was a rushed overdress as I was eager to jump into this persons. The cotton velveteen was a stash buster, but closer to a traditional velvet than what my budget could afford from modern manufacturers.
  • Decorative collar. This was also rushed and will be replaced in time, but I made it of black wool, 1800’s wool brocade, fur trim, coral (cultivated species, dyed orange), glass beads, freshwater pearls.
  • Light veil, with small freshwater pearls sewn to the edges.
  • Various pearl, coral, and other beaded accessories, including Ryasny, necklaces, etc.
  • Accessories for the Rus garb, including a rigid heddle woven band that I made of wool, along with temple rings from twisted mixed-metal wire.

To make-
  • Lapti! This will probably wait until I am doing a full peasant garb set.
  • Additional linen and wool outer dresses, and layers with front loop closures and long hanging arms.
  • Additional letnik and caftan.
  • Mother of pearl or pearl beaded cuffs
  • Matching collar
  • (In progress)The kremlin museums recreation cream rubakha with red gussets, subbing fine linen per my budget and persona.
  • (In progress) Green-beaded front panel for a kika (no idea when I will use this, but making it for fun.)
  • (In progress) Mother-of-pearl beaded and embroidered Kika
  • (In progress) Umber heavy-linen overdress with brocade front.

Makeup- eastern influence. White, "as if flour." Red cheeks. Eyebrows dark “like sable tails.” Very much a painted, obvious use of cosmetics. Culturally it would have been abnormal or frowned upon to not wear makeup like this in Novgorod or Moscow at this time.
