Judith grew up in the northern forests of England and lives around the year 1520. The Northwode family originated in the fertile lands of Northumbria, where they were minor landholders, known for their loyalty to local lords and their adeptness in farming and trade. Her ancestors married viking invaders and profited by offering knowledge of the land and support in exchange for protection and a share of the spoils. This alliance was sealed through the marriage Gyda, to Rikkar Fundinn, blending their bloodlines. (Judith portrays Gyda as a norse wife of Rikkar Fundinn). This alliance provided the foundation for the nobility of the Northwode family.
To maintain their fortune, her family is known for their large swaths of high quality timber, which provide a reliable source for the Crown dating back before the Norman Invasion. Judith is married, however, her husband travels throughout the contenent often, therefore, she is the main keeper of their estate.
Judith is a scribe and creates illuminations for our Kingdom.
