I travel primarily amongst the Northern European lands before the 12th century. I am an ardent Accessory aficionado.
My current interest include 11th century Livonian in the lower Daugava River Basin, 10th century Haithabu Danish, 7th century Byzantine, 6th century Merovingian, and 9th century Severian. I need to find something interesting in the 8th century it appears.
I preside over my keep that is bustling with children. Experience and being experimental, thoughtful and creative challenging of long held processes is highly encouraged provided it is done with thought and care to the safety of the person and materials. Although my children are raised as members of the nobility I find high value in them understanding the work that is applied to create the comforts they enjoy in life. No one is above any type of work. Great understanding comes when you experience the lowliest of positions and find how they can be executed with honor and grace.
I am a teacher to my children and supplement their traditional learning with the practical education available in daily tasks. I enjoy weaving the wool of our flocks and using this art to teach mathematics. Walking the meadows and hills collecting plants to be used in dying, preserving and flavoring of our foods opens our minds to science. Glass working is a creative outlet that teaches fine motor and reactions of chemistry. Reading the libraries and sitting at the feet of great minds encourages the language arts. Playing games Athletically or of the mind stretch our capabilities.
Once as I was having a portrait done, a goat entered the workshop, the artist thought it amusing to keep the goat in the picture. I enjoy comfortably quiet walks with good friends. I am often seen in enthusiastic conversation with anyone I can convince to share my interests. Jewelry and accessories are very important. Fowl is not food.
My favorite color is purple. Favorite flower is the Orchid, preferably still in plant form and favorite bug is the dragonfly. My favorite scrolls are useful objects.
