Friedrich is the first son of a German educator who developed an interest in the scribal arts at a young age. After experimenting with the local flora and mineral sources for colorants, his family decided that young Friedrich was indeed destined for a life as a scribe. When Master Gevehard von Baden was visiting Augsburg, Friedrich's father arranged for his son to apprentice with the Master. After years under his tutilage, Friedrich is now known for his scribal talents and has been known to teach these skills to other young artisans. His love of precious metals, particularly gold; and intense color from nature can be seen in his works.
