Come explore all things Metal Casting with our featured workshops, all of which offer participants an opportunity to create a souvenir:

- Early Medieval Bronzecasting
Experience the viking age/early medieval bronzecaster’s art with a hands-on demonstration workshop. Utilizing an authentic process with no modern tools or materials, participants will learn about the ancient craft of melting and pouring bronze, as it was practiced in and around the 10th century Nordic areas. Those who are interested may have an opportunity to cast their own souvenir, although the supply of prepared molds will be limited. Running the entire batch of molds will require most of the day, but participants may come and go as needed.
Material fee: $10.00 if you choose to cast a souvenir, otherwise FREE.
Instructor: Ottar Hraffnsson (also called Ormaugr)
18+ for participation. Hazards include, fire, smoke, liquid metal and uncomfortable, ground-level working positions. Eye protection encouraged.

- Modern bronze casting using delft clay
Instructor: Atticus

- Hands-on Blacksmithing demonstration
Instructor: Morgan

Other planned activities include:
Archery
Thrown weapons (pending marshal availability)
A brewing show & tell
Other A&S Classes
Bardic

Each space for tent camping is 20x20, max 8 people. Larger tents and RVs are allowed with advance notice but there are no hookups. The closest known place with RV hookups is the Ojibwa Casino in Baraga.
