I have several housekeeping matters this month.
Item the First: As a reminder, when assisting clients with name and armory submissions, no Herald is authorized to accept the completed forms and related fees with the exception of Keythong Herald. Please direct your clients to mail the forms and fees to Keythong whose address may be found in the Northwatch. Submission can also be made at a consultation table when Keythong is present. Failure to follow this policy will result in loss of your Herald warrant.
Item the Second: Please take some time to review your Northshield website profile and make sure your membership expiration date is current. A valid membership is required to maintain your warrant. If it is not, please update it to match your blue card. If your membership has lapsed and you have not or do not intend to renew it, please contact me at herald@northshield.org.
Item the Third: I am currently accepting applications for the position of Aegis Herald. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating the annual Northshield Heralds and Scribes Symposium. Applications should be sent to me and indicate why you think you are a good fit for this role.
Item the Fourth: Speaking of the Northshield Heralds and Scribes Symposium, I am also accepting bids for this event to take place during calendar 2019. This is open to any group. The primary need is for a site with classroom spaces. Aegis Herald has responsibility to arrange instructors. Bids should be sent to myself and Aegis Herald.
Item the Fifth: Going forward, when I receive notice from Their Majesties regarding the scheduling of a Royal Court at an event, I will be contacting the local Herald whenever possible to offer them the opportunity to participate in this activity. It is my view that this is part of being the local, warranted Heraldic officer. Training and guidance regarding being a Court Herald is available. Only after this offer has been made will I be seeking other volunteers. It is my hope we can add many more Heralds with experience in this activity to assist Their Majesties as They travel the Kingdom.
