My father was Tiarna in Scotland, my mother sat proudly by his side, ruling their people with pride and grace. They were killed when Norse raiders came through in the Year of our Lord 980, destroying most of our lands. My nurse kept me safe and hidden away miles from home in the convent, where I had been sent to study. When I returned home, I found nothing left. I kept my identity hidden for quite some time, out of fear. Many raiders had taken over the village, instead of returning to their own lands. One kind gentleman had only joined the raiding party to get away from his barren lands, and his run of bad luck, and decided to settle in our village outside of Glasgow. As time when on, we fell in love and got married. Hakkon has proven to be a fierce warrior and protector when need be, but lacks much of the formalities I was raised with. We have been blessed with 3 children, soon to be 4. Though I no longer hold a seat of power among my people, I still enjoy the finer things when I can. I have embraced his Norse culture, and intermixed it with my own Gaelic past.
