| Godefroy du Lyon, born 1228 in the city of Lyon under control of the Holy Roman Empire. His Father went on Crusade with Frederick II shortly before he was born. Growing up Godefroy spent most of my time learning how to wield a sword and trained in the arts martial. Learning from his father first hand how to fight. When the call for crusade came again in 1248 Godefroy joined the ranks under King Louis IX of France and set sail for Cyprus and then Egypt. Godefroy was fortunate to survive the Battle of Fariskur and eventually returned to France. He traveled north and spent some time in Paris learning the European fur trade before traveling further north to a strange Kingdom of Northshield. As it is much colder in Northshield than in southern France, Godefroy took up his own trade in furs. Today he resides in Northshield dealing in furs and lends his sword to the army of Northshield when it is needed. He has earned the title of Lord and given the award of arms for his service to the kingdom as well as the award of the black flame for his skill in the fiber and fur arts. |
