Driving through central South Dakota in late July the flat land bakes under the summer sky. As the sun begins to hit the western horizon you see a dark bulk rising above the land. It’s not a cloud but the highlands of mid-Dakota rising up. Driving into town suddenly the heat fades as you drive under the branches of arching trees. A small spring bubbles from the side of hill. And around the corner is a Tudor cottage complete with thatched roof and formal gardens.
As you look you ask, “Is it real, or a dream?”
It is a dream.
