Greetings unto the populace of Northshield,
Welcome to September, the end of Summer and the start of Autumn. Now is a time of transition. First of all, thank you for the inspiring reign and leadership from Their Majesties, Lars III and Mary III, and vivant to Their incoming Majesties, Yngvar III and Isabella. Long may They reign.
Speaking of transitions, I am looking forward to transitioning to the new and improved kingdom website. But before we can do that, the website needs the following positions filled to help finish this project.
Kingdom Webminister. Reports to the Society Webminster and the Kingdom Chronicler. This is an administrative (not development) position that oversees/helps the local Webministers of the kingdom, maintains the Webminister’s handbook, and manages the kingdom website (a web-based application) to ensure it meets the needs of the kingdom officers and the populace. Please submit letters of intent to chronicler@northshield.org and webminister@northshield.org by September 1, 2023.
Special Deputy: Web Service Developer. This is a limited-term role under the Webminister. This individual will assist in the creation of the new Northshield website. Desired skills or knowledge includes MySQL, PHP, JSON, and Git experience.
Special Deputy: Web Plug In Developer. This is a limited-term role under the Webminister. This individual will assist in the creation of the new Northshield website. Desired skills or knowledge includes programming for WordPress. Plug-In Maintainers and database Programmers with knowledge of WordPress Security Architecture, Object Oriented PHP, JSON, JQuery, MySQL and Git experience are also desired.
Special Deputy: Web Front End Developer. This is a limited-term role under the Webminister. This individual will assist in the creation of the new Northshield website. Desired skills or knowledge includes WordPress theme design/development (Website designer, GUI designer, PHP programmer, all in one), JSON, AJAX, and Git experience. Javascript knowledge a plus.
Special Deputy: Web Administrator. This is a limited-term role under the Webminister. This individual will assist in the creation of the new Northshield website. Desired skills or knowledge includes DNS administration, website backup administration, general administrative tasks, and Git experience.

One of my favorite duties as Kingdom Chronicler is submitting nominations for the William Blackfox Awards, the Society’s publications awards. The chroniclers of Northshield did not fail to impress in AS LVII. I submitted eight nominations for four local newsletters and the Northwatch. The winners should be announced this winter.
Currently, only the five baronies are producing local newsletters. If your local group is interested in starting, or re-starting, a newsletter, I am more than happy to answer any questions.
