Greetings unto the populace of Northshield,
At the time of publication for this issue, we’ll still be a few days before Domesday. Domesday reports are due November 25th
(the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S.). All local chroniclers, webministers, and social media officers (SMO) must submit a report by then if they wish to keep their warrants active. Groups that do not have a social medial officer, I would like to request that the local seneschals fill out the report. Reports can be submitted online on the kingdom website at:
http://northshield.org/Officers/Reports/Schedule.aspx?Officers .
We have a number of kingdom deputy offices open. They are:
• Emergency Deputy Kingdom Chronicler
• Media Relations Deputy
• Kingdom Archivist/Historian
• Deputy Northwatch Editor
• Western/Plains Regional Deputy SMO
• TikTok Deputy SMO
If anyone is interested in learning more about the chronicler’s office, and/or is interested in becoming either a local group chronicler or a deputy kingdom chronicler, please let me know. I will be very glad to talk to you about it.
In addition to being a chronicler, I am also a herald-at-large, an archery marshal, and a thrown weapons marshal. In keeping with the artillery arts theme of this issue, I have a crossover matter to address.
I have noticed a few newsletters and websites using the following badge for their local group archery marshals, Argent, on a pale gules, three pheons inverted Or.
This badge was registered to the Middle Kingdom Archery Marshallate. With the absence of a Society-wide archery marshal badge, many non-Midrealm groups and kingdoms adopt this badge for use. While Northshield was part of the Middle Kingdom it was entirely appropriate for us to use this badge, but we should have stopped using it when we became a kingdom.
In 2019, the College of Heralds registered Society-wide badges for all the marshallates. The badge for target archery marshals is Sable, two arrows in saltire Or. For thrown weapons marshals, the badge is Sable, two axes in saltire surmounted by a spear Or. I encourage the chroniclers and webministers to update their newsletters and websites accordingly.
I want to wish you all a very happy holiday season, in what manner you observe it, and a happy and prosperous new year.
Ever in service to Crown, Kingdom, and you,
Arnbjørn
