Red as blood, red as fire, let your hearts burn ever higher;
Red Cloak, Red Cloak, show me what you know;
Run by Her chariot as the Dragon Queen sets forth.
Seek the Tiger as your Fathers sought the Red Crests long ago!

In your tents, late at night, hear the horses at their picket;
Hear the wind foretell the battle that will waken with the dawn.
Hear the guard fires cracking harshly as a sword will crack the careless;
Hear the old ones talk of past wars until the night is gone.

Come the dawn, come the light, you will harness all the horses;
You will wait upon the Queen who goes alone before you all.
You will see Her and remember all the legends of your childhood
Of a great Iceni Queen who would not stand as thrall.

At Her call, on the field, you will tighten all your harness;
You will take upon you all that She will ask of you this day.
Her name will you be thundering as the Tiger runs before you
The scent of battle fills the world and binds you to the fray.
