February 2011 Northwatch Missive

Greetings Northshield

Believe it or not winter is almost over. Here it is Februaryand the Vernal Equinox is only a short six weeks away--so that means Spring isonly three months away.

Speaking of Spring; Coronation is in two short months withCrown only three months away. We hope also to be restarting Officers’ Day. Wehave received bids for these but as of this moment (its still December) nodecision on which bid will be accepted.

In the meantime, there are many wonderful events over thenext couple of months throughout the Kingdom; February sees Moot Thingy inWisconsin, Hertzkreig in South Dakota, Tournament of Chivalry in Minnesota, UneFete (and the Princess’ Sleeve Tournament) in North Dakota, and Fighter’s Schoolin Wisconsin. March also brings us A Sworded Affair in Minnesota and Ides ofMarch in South Dakota along with a wonderful event down in warm Mississippicalled Gulf Wars. So there is a lot to do all over the place. If you areplanning on making one or more of these; have a great time, play nice, and besafe.

Since it is February, it is also time to remind all theSeneschals that their 1st quarter report (short form) is due byMarch 1st. I am happy to say that only 2 groups did not get in theirreports last quarter, which is the best we have done. Thanks Seneschals for allyour hard work. Just think, this will be the last time you hear from me aboutreports. Alright, calm down--stop jumpingup and down. You are scaring the cats! Seriously, these reports are importantto the Kingdom for it gives us a chance to hear from you about your group andyour concerns. They are read and I do pass on, as needed your concerns andquestions and I am sure my successor will do the same for she is also a formergroup seneschal and knows what you go through.

That is all I have for this month so until March, I remain,

 David de Bohun
