November 2010 Northwatch Missive

GreetingsKinsmen,

Forthe next few months instead of cheerleading for the army, I’m going to borrow(who am I kidding, I going to flat steal it) the Evil Sheriff’s format andanswer questions about the army.

Ourfighter practice is small, usually 3-5 people, how do we train for melee?

This is a common issue with smallergroups. Fortunately, there is a simple and easy solution. Do 2 on 1, 3 on 2 and3 on 1 drills. This lets you practice working together against a commonopponent.

Whatweapon form is best for melee?

Whatever form you are best with, however Florentine has limited applications in melee. Having depth and beingproficient in multiple forms is extremely helpful. Depending on the scenario wemay need more shield, spears, or capital weapons and being able to switchweapon forms makes Northshield a more versatile unit.

Myunit leader has been killed. Who is in command?

If you have to ask, you are!!! Thisis why it is critical the every member of the army know and understand what theobjectives and victory conditions are.

Idon’t fight, but I would like to help the army. What can I do?

You can volunteer to water bear orjust come and watch the army fight. One other important area is fund raising, both the inter-kingdom war fund (formerly known as the water bearing fund) andthe fighter breakfast fund are solely funded by direct donation, these funds ARE NOT replenished from the general fund!! So anyfund raising for either of these funds is greatly appreciated.

Ifyou have questions email them to me at: polearm1@gmail.com.

Inservice,
