November 2010 Northwatch Missive

Greetings! Thisis a quieter month as travel about the Kingdom slows down and people snuggle into work on indoor projects. Make the effort to travel to at least one of theseveral good events in November! The Feast of St. Catherine’s, on November 6,includes a quilting project during the event. The Stellar University ofNorthshield (S.U.N.) offers a day of learning and sharing on November 13. Andon the 20th, ’Till We Meade Again has three competitions - one for brewing, vintning and mead-making, of course, and also a heraldic competition as well asa period board construction competition. The event steward has the rules on thewebsite for more information.

I’ve started adatabase of the populace’s interests and the classes that they are willing toteach, in an effort to help you find teachers for events and group work days. The database is found at http://jonya.com/arts/ and searching it is explained onthe page. There is a link to the form to fill out if you would like to beadded. In addition there is a Blogroll of populace websites, and an area whereI am gathering types of competitions together, including their rules and forms,to help event staff. If you would like to help, please contact me. People havebeen asking for a competition handbook. So let’s pull our wealth of experienceand knowledge together and start getting that together. Thank you!

Keep your handsbusy and your hearts warm!
