Untothe Populace of Northshield doth THL Kenric Bjarnarson send greetings.
Inthis winter season, it is difficult to believe that Spring, and the outdoorseason, are just around the corner. Despite this, I would recommend that gentlefolk start digging out their outdoor equipment, thrown into storage at the endof the last event, and check it for function and needed repairs. Are yourthrown weapons appropriately sharpened, and are the handles well-attached? Areyour bowstrings frayed, or is there a crack in the bow or a few of the arrows? Howis the stitching on your harness? It would be a shame to get to your firstevent of the outdoor season and not be able to participate in an activitybecause of broken equipment. It would be even worse to have the equipment failin use and cause an injury. Last year, the only thrown weapons injury reportedto me was caused by failed equipment--a loose axe head which caused a handlaceration. Let's work toward a Summer with no reportable accidents.
Chirurgeons, please take these last couple months of longer indoor hours to go through yourkits to replace items and update meds, as needed.
Iwill not be at any events in March, but am planning to attend Coronation,Provost Challenge, Feast of Fools, Crown Tourney, and Quest for Camelot inApril and May.
Inservice,
Kenric
