The summer is flying by, and we are already to July, but there is plenty of summer left!
First a few Thank Yous!
Lilies War
Thank you to the Royalty Liaison and the staff of Lilies War. Her Majesty had a wonderful time as always. We were also pleased to hear about the great hospitality of Calontir for those Northshielders who attended Lilies for their first time.
Northern Realms War (NRW)
Thank you to everyone who helped to make NRW possible and all the staff that helped out His Majesty during the long weekend and made sure he had everything he needed.
Munchkin Mayhem
Thank you to everyone who attended this first time child-focused event. It was wonderful to see how many youth were able to be there and participate in all the activities. I’m hoping this can become a traditional event for our youth!
We are looking forward to Warriors and Warlords in July as well as Poorman’s Pennsic. Warriors and Warlords is celebrating their 25th year! It is fun to remember the WWs that stand out in our minds and how it has evolved over the years. If you haven’t been out to Poorman’s, please give it a try — there are a lot of activities including Equestrian!
After WW, we start our packing for Pennsic. A week at Pennsic seems like it will probably take that long to fit everything into the vehicle needed for war week. Currently we haven’t chosen what side we will be fighting on at Pennsic, as we are waiting on numbers to make sure that Northshield is on a side where there is enough fighting. Hopefully by the August missive we will have a better idea. With summer heat upon us we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves; please remember to drink plenty of water and take breaks as needed.
Also, if you see someone you don’t recognize, please welcome them, get to know them, and make them feel at home!
