Unto the people of Northshield do Æsa and Kitadate-denka, Heirs to Northshield, send warm greetings!
The days already grow shorter and soon the land will be painted with the rich palette of fall. Upon the turning of the leaves do We make Our final preparations to ascend the Griffin Thrones. We owe an indescribable debt of gratitude to Our Royal Parents Tarrach and Fina whose wise guidance nurtured Our young Kingdom. We ask that you extend your thanks to Them as well for Their generous gifts of time, counsel and love to Northshield.
Our summer was full of travels to lands both near and far, meeting new people, witnessing great deeds and fine arts, and continuing to be blessed by the generosity and kindness of the people of Northshield and the world. Our most heartfelt thanks go out to those who assisted with the Float the Heirs fundraiser at WW, for We are now much more well-provisioned for Our winter travels.
We would like to remind those interested in entering Our Crown Tournament that We must receive letters of intent by September 23. See Our letter in August’s Northwatch for details. On the evening before Crown Tournament Princess Æsa will host a reception for consorts and members of their potential retinue. This will be a time for the consorts to get to know one another as well as generally socialize about divers subjects. It will start at approximately 8 pm. Further information will be sent to the consorts as details are finalized.
As We ascend the thrones We will continue the financial planning efforts that TRM Tarrach and Fina began. A detailed report of Northshield’s cash flows and budget is included in the Exchequer’s section of this Northwatch. We invite you to review Our Kingdom’s financial information and direct questions to Us or THL Greta. We anticipate that this will also be a topic discussed at the Althing in November.
Finally, as We look toward the winter months We notice that the Kingdom event calendar is a bit sparse, especially in January. Winter’s chill will feel especially harsh without time spent with good friends to bolster the spirit. If your group is planning to host an event this winter, We encourage you to get the event on the calendar so that all may know of your plans.
