Greetings, Northshield,
By the time you read this, I will have just taken over as Kingdom Minister of Arts and Sciences. Many of you may not know me as I hail from the far southeastern corner of the Kingdom, so first, a brief introduction. I was drawn into the Society by finding a place to sing early music. I soon found myself doing dance, scribal arts, heraldry, cooking, and costume research as well. I also finally found a place for my love of studying period silk textiles and learned to recognize which motifs were from the medieval and Renaissance eras. Since then, I've found many new interests that include wood carving, studying tapestry, and researching the high court culture of the Burgundian Netherlands (think pointy princess hats).
My goal in taking on my new role is to share the joy in finding, creating, and doing all manner of arts and sciences. To that end, I plan to travel throughout the kingdom to share what I know, and to listen to what others would like to learn and to gather ideas on the preferred ways Northshielders would like to share resources.
In service,
Annetje
