Greetings to all horse lovers,
Due to a dose of real life, I find myself writing to you in this forum again, this time as temporary Constable of the Cavalry. “Temporary” means I am looking for a more permanent replacement, so anyone wishing to apply for the position please contact myself or the KEM. My contact information is posted in the back of the Northwatch.
The cavalry got off to a good start this year, with two events held in Nordskogen so far. At the official practice a number of riders authorized or upgraded. Schutzenfest gave us a chance to work on our mounted archery skills. There are several more events holding equestrian activities coming up soon. As always, if you wish to ride, authorize, or bring a horse you must contact the Equestrian Marshal before the event.

Just a reminder that the new equestrian handbook is on line. If you plan to authorize, please read the handbook as there are some changes in the authorization procedure. Part of the change is expecting riders to be prepared when they come to authorize. One of the best things you can do to be prepared is to brush up on your riding skills before coming to an event. Even people who used to ride years ago find this to be helpful. Another thing you can do is find an advanced rider who can show you how to use the weapons properly.
Hope to see you at an event soon!
YIS
