Greetings to the glorious populace of Northshield!
We would like to thank you all for the warmth you have shown us — the kindness, the time and generosity — surely, Northshield is blessed to have such a gracious populace. Plans have already begun, and we will be traveling throughout the kingdom as our time as heirs begins. Our journeys are, in fact, off to a smashing start as we recently attended Tri- to Live by the Sword with Yehudah Khagan. The event was fantastic with a myriad of tournaments, including a tournament for the Princess’s Sleeve, which was won by Doña Sibyl with grace, skill, and panache. Thanks to the staff for accommodating the Sleeve tournament and putting on a great event. It was an ideal event for it.
As we are somewhat new to the kingdom, we wanted to let you know a little bit about us. Konrad has been in the SCA for 24 years, all of them in the East, where he lived his entire life (Hey Yo, New Jersey!). While enjoying all that the SCA has to offer, at heart Konrad is a warrior, a reveler, a lover of competition and combat. Aibhilin was raised in the SCA and has been active in Meridies, Atlantia, the East, and now Northshield. She has a broad interest in all of the arts and adores children. We look at our time on the thrones as an opportunity to serve the kingdom and its people. We have sought counsel from long-time Northshielders, both peer and populace, and we are conscientious of the traditions and values of our great kingdom. We are also individuals who will be trying to do the best job that we can; we will be as transparent as possible with our thought process. One decision that we will take very seriously is that of making a Peer of the Realm — we would not elevate someone to an order that counseled against it.
One of the jobs of royalty is to recognize members of our populace, and give gifts as we greet visitors and as we travel to foreign lands. To this end, we ask that if you have a skill or a talent you might donate to the royal largess coffers, please let us know, so we might show the skill and generosity of Northshield’s artisans. We have a list of gift needs and wants on our reign website, and our gift coordinator is Comtesse Guenievre du Dragon Vert. We would like to give a very special thanks to our Chief of Staff, Duchess Petranella Fitzallen, who has already proved invaluable. Petranella, you rock!
