Greetings!
The website continues apace. We're having some rocky times adjusting to the changes forced by the genders and titles of Their Majesties — Long may they reign! — but we're working through them (and, in fact, this may be resolved by the time the Northwatch goes to press). We're also making small changes all the time. For instance, you know the bar at the top of the website contains lots of drop-down links? Did you notice that all of the links which point at resources on other peoples' websites — Big War Links, for example — disappeared for a little while? You probably didn't notice, and that's okay. They're back now, along with a few new ones. Take a look! And remember, you can request new content, articles, changes, and whatnot by emailing the support team or the office of the webminister directly.
As I did last month, let me put out this call: I'm looking for heraldic images (such as the ones at http://www.northshield.org/Resources/HeraldicImages.aspx.) We would like to make higher-quality images available for the use of the general populace, but I don't have any. And here's where you come in: If you have high-quality and/or digital versions of these badges, suitable for using with embroidery machines or high-res graphics, please send them to me. I will be happy to attribute them to you. And you'll be helping the Kingdom. And I'll be happy. If you do submit such things, please include the waiver <http://northshield.org/Resources/PDF/ReleaseCreativeFillable.pdf> as well.
And, of course, everyone's got a profile on the Northshield website, right? Of course you do. So of course you are aware that you can make changes to it if necessary by clicking the Edit Profile link in the top right corner and changing things like your home group (if you've moved) or your name (if you've changed it) or your time period. Or whatever takes your fancy.
I leave you with these "The website is down" messages, though of course it's not down at all. Except for brief windows, usually in the wee hours of Thursday mornings when it takes its tea.
"Those nasty hobbitses stole my precious... We've sent 4 hobbits, an elf, a dwarf, 2 men and a wizard after it. They should be back soon. Or 18 years. Unrelated: Is anybody using those giant eagles?"
"The site has been stolen by raiders. We're sending The Smallest Verangian to bring it back, and she's very fierce, but very small. It may take some time."
"You know how in zombie movies the websites all crash? ...... Yeah, totally not related...."
(The website is up.)
