O Northshield, Our Northshield!
As we draft this missive, the 26th Tournament for the Crown, which will determine our heirs, is days away. We are looking forward to a day in which fighters from every corner of Northshield show us their best mettle, and compete for the right to succeed us. By the time you read this, of course, the result will be known, but today, it’s still in the future and we can’t wait!
Meanwhile, we would be remiss if we did not include one more profuse “THANK YOU” to everyone who made our Coronation day amazing! Even we didn’t know quite what to expect from the actual event, and in nearly every way it exceeded our expectations!
In the coming weeks, we’ll be at Tri to Live by the Sword, Stellar University, and Boar’s Head; Yehudah is also making two state visits, to the Midrealm's Bardic Madness and to Calontir’s Kris Kinder. By next month, we should have some idea what our schedule will look like as we approach annual War Season in the south, and of course, our heirs will be scheduling their progress as well!
This issue is all about food and feasts, we're told. One of the things about being royalty is that you wind up eating feast any time there is one! In the past, neither of us have commonly eaten feasts, somewhat out of laziness — feast gear is just one more thing to bring. Now, we’ve been reminded of how much we have been missing out! Northshield has some awfully good cooks hiding in some surprising corners. Yehudah is still full from the feast at Danse Macabre, for example!
So now, we challenge you. If you are usually not one to eat a feast, get your gear together where it’s handy, and get yourself a seat for a feast at an upcoming event! Chances are good you’ll be glad you did!
