| Lewys is a scion of a noble merchant House based in the Cinque Ports region of England in the late 1400's early 1500's. He tends to prefer seafaring to doings at Court, or running the family House businesses, which he has left to his capable and shrewd brother. Lewys bears the responsibility of maintaining the family's fleet of 50 vessels and directly commands the family's flagship, The Wylde Rose, as a part of managing the shipping operations for the House. His brother handles the day-to-day business, the staffing of House traders in the various ports around Europe, Scandinavia and the Mediterranean. Rumors of piracy, slave trade and spying are routinely aired by competing Houses and other seafaring merchant lines (like the Hansa), but no actual evidence has ever been brought before any Crown, nor charges made. House Blackmore does carry Lettres of Marque against foreign targets from the English Crown. |
