LATE period merchant-adventurere (and teller of tales, poet, etc.)
Amra is an adopted son of merchants, and has been a merchant, mercenary, and traveler himself. Wide are his interests: he has developed many of them into lectures and less-formal discussions over the course of his life. Of late, he concerns himself with scholarly pursuits as often as not, particularly in the area of bardic arts and related fields.
In the Current Middle Ages, he was founding pursuivant of what is now the Province of Moonschadowe, and continues various heraldic pursuits. He has also been known to throw various things at assorted targets, and in the course of his association with the SCA has entered the field of combat in several different forms.
Amra is the self-proclaimed Kitchen Idiot of the Cathedral of the Cheesey Salamander (sca-cooks mailing list), and witnessed Papa Gunthar's Laureling at Steppes Warlord XXXV (5/24/2008ce), which event Amra once co-autocrated.
Amra has also accepted the A&S 50 Challenge, in all three major categories. He intends to stretch his bardic skills for Depth, read deeply and teach often in search of Breadth, and pursue a number of lesser goals in extending and improving his grasp of Persona.
Amra stays busy...
He also sharpens knives and other blades (as well as wits), for an appropriate fee, or at a whim.
At present (2/28/2009ce), Amr ibn Majid al-Bakri al-Amra holds an AoA and a Sable Crane of Ansteorra, as well as a (non-precedence / non-OP) Acorn of the Steppes -- and a "Yea, Us!" Certificate from the Shire of Kings Crossing, Aethelmearc.
