Rose Marian is Early Tudor English-German lady (Dad is an English Shipwright-Carpenter, Mom is a German cook in her family's inn. In the late 1500's, Dad went to Germany to investigate the new German ship designs he'd heard about. He stayed at the Inn owned by Mom's family, got to know the family and her, married her and took her back to England with him.) She earned pocket money as a young girl by making and mending fishing nets. She has a great interest in historical cooking and food. She also has interests in calligraphy and Illumination (she is literate, as she was sent to school at the local convent, as her father had no sons, so she would inherit his business (by this period daughters were allowed to inherit under guild rules, at least in England.) She dabbles in a number of other things as well, and is learning about things bardic (some of the period German cookbooks are interspersed with poetry, not always realating to food or the recipes near the poems in the book. This fascinates her, and so she wishes to enhance her knowledge in the bardic arts.)
