Born in 1302, Roberd was too young to be with The Bruce at Bannockburn, though his father was there. Roberd did join the Bruce briefly during the Scottish raids into Yorkshire during the summers of 1322-1323, but was called back to his home to attend to his family's business upon the death of his father. He is married to an Irish woman, and they have one daughter.
Unlike most fighting Scots of the day, Roberd does not have a burning hatred for all things English, as he does trade with them often enough; his family's business deals with the wool trade.
