Imbolc: A Gaelic Celebration of Spring

Joinus in Castel Rouge as we wish and hope for the first signs of springwith an event at a beautiful historic site. Bring your warmest garb if youwish to take advantage of the grounds of the gorgeous monastery,complete with a roaring fire circle that's perfect for bardic activities. 

Please Pre Register at the event web site, cash will be accepted at the gate. 

Archery competition to take place the Friday evening at Heights Archery Range, 2281 Portage Avenue, 7pm. Heavy combat and rapiertournaments to be held during the day, along with classes including an introductionto making SCA weapons in the on site workshop. 

Bardic Competition - Present your best song or other short performance on the theme of hope or spring during feast. To be judged by populace applause. 

A&S Competition- Best cold weather outdoor garb. Our judges will be looking for both beauty and practicality. 

Imbolc is traditionally a time where special foods such as butter, cheese and bannocks were served. Expect to see this as part of our feast prepared by experienced cook Diedrich Eckhart. A full menu should be posted shortly. 

Lunch will be provided and donations accepted to cover the cost. 

Site is handicap accessible.
