Prepare for an Exciting Event, like none before!
Friday night prepare a dish over an open fire! It does not have to be a period dish, but it has to be cooked over an open fire. We will then have a "qualified" judge and award the winner and then share in a group feast!
Brewers and Vinters, you are called upon to bring a bottle of your best/favorite and enter a tasting contest. Winner to be awarded and then the rest of bottle too shall be shared in the Friday night feast.
Saturday will be a day of GREAT activities and fun! We will have 3 different types of games and fighting.
First will be teams consisting of 1 fighter (heavy, not rapier) and 1 non-fighter. Each team member will compete and earn points towards the overall winner of the day. The team with the highest total point score will be the GRAND WINNERS of the Event and each will be awarded. There will be 2nd and 3rd place awards also.
These games will be based loosely on Highland games, Olympic games and Gladiatorial games.
Highland Games:
Fighter will compete in a caber toss, hammer throw, and stone toss.
Non-fighter will compete in lunch toss, stone toss and bean the buddy.
Olympic Games:
Both fighters and non-fighters will compete in a javelin toss and axe throw, and the fighters will also compete in a foot race (this will lead straight into the Gladiatorial Games).
Gladiatorial Games:
These will be completed by the fighter but cheering and support from the team member is greatly encouraged.
The Olympic foot race will lead straight into the Gladiatorial Games.
There will be approximately 5 rounds of fighting for the Gladiatorial Games, depending on number of fighters. There will be paired off fighting and melee fighting.
Sword and shield, bring your best and bag of weapons styles.
