My name is Gospatric de Reynes. I am an Anglo-Norman serving the 3rd Earl of Essex William de Mandeville and living in the 12th century. I stayed loyal to the king during the Revolt of 1173–1174, known as the Revolt of the Young King. In 1177 I became a crusader, in company with Count Philip of Flanders. Philip attempted to intervene in the court politics of the Kingdom of Jerusalem but was rebuffed, and the two fought for the Principality of Antioch at the siege of Harim. I returned to England in the autumn of 1178.
I also fought in the wars against the French toward the end of Henry II's reign
to talk about the real world for a moment: as I have been serving as a youth marshal, I have made relationships with many of the youth parents. One of them is a scribe new to northshield but has been in the SCA in another kingdom. Sorry I don’t remember if it was the Outlands. Cristobal’s mundane name is Cristos Bryer. I would like to give him right of first refusal if anyone is recommending me for a scroll. He mostly works in line drawings. I don’t really know the ins and outs of the SCA but I have this funny idea about the “antismokey the bear” the bear who kindles the hearth. My Alma mater has the slogan
They Gathered Sticks and Kindled a Fire and Left it Burning” which is absolutely not something that Smokey would be okay with
