Minutes from 7-11-2009 - Warriors and Warlords

Present:

I.              Law Change

a.   Removing law (Article III-800) requiring publication of Crown requirements six weeks prior to each Crown Tourney. Change read into Court today (07/11/2009).

I              Regalia Committee – Their Majesties Stephen & Ailleanne

a.   Propose formation of a Regalia Committee

b.   Will be made up of royal peers and possibly former royal chamberlains

c.    Will be responsible for overseeing the creation, maintenance, and disposition of kingdom regalia.  Any item presented to Northshield Royalty which is not sanctioned by the Regalia Committee will be considered a personal gift.

d.   Will be responsible for completing a physical inventory of kingdom regalia

e.   Will over see mechanisms for soliciting regalia, tracking regalia, and making regaliamore visible to the populace (via a website?)

f.     Will report to the Kingdom Chancellor of the Exchequer.  Will work closely with the Royal Family, Seneschal, and Exchequer.

III.           OfficerUpdates

a.   Kenric (Chirurgeon)

                   i.     Warrant list is ready – 11 chirurgeons

                  ii.     Several additional people interested inchirurgeonate, choosing carefully

                 iii.     Notice to all seneschals within thekingdom – if your event does not have a chirurgeon in charge and there is aninjury, you are responsible for making a report to the Kingdom Chirurgeon.  If the injury occured on the field, you must also report it to the appropriate marshal.

b.   Gunther (Earl Marshal)

                   i.     Continuing to keep an eye on concussioninjuries, as these are currently a matter of special focus.

                  ii.     People are having fun and doing a lot offighting

c.    David(Seneschal)

                   i.     Will be putting the consolidated event report back into place to ensure that all kingdom officers know what’s happening at local events.

                  ii.     There are a couple of groups having reporting issues, David will be escalating

                 iii.     There are a couple of groups discussing upping their group status

                iv.     Barony of Castel Rouge transition –polling has been delayed, but there is still time to complete the process for achangeover at Gimli.

                 v.     Barony of Jararvellir transition – Labels have been ordered, poll will be mailed shortly.

d.   Elashava(Chronicler)

                   i.     Northwatch is going well both editorially and financially

                  ii.     Will be adding overall emphasis on kingdom history.  New and enthusiastic historian.  Investigating options for making history better available online.

                 iii.     Webminister – Countess Eilis will succeed Kit.  Will not be doing a complete revamp of the site, but will build on the existing code.  Kit will still assist with deep technical work.

                iv.     Looking for potential backup chroniclers.

e.   Merideth (Herald) – reported by Anplica

                   i.     Kingdom awards are still going through theprocess

                 iii.     Attending Known World Heraldic event

                iv.     Severe lack of reporting from heraldsthroughout the kingdom

f.     Greta(Chancellor of Exchequer)

                   i.     US Bank is slow on updating signaturecards.  May consider switchingbanks.

                  ii.     Investigating options for archiving files.  7 years of paper files takes a lot ofspace!

                 iii.     Reports are due at end of July

                iv.     Shire of Border Downs is having an unexpected transition of exchequer office.  Have not yet been in contact with the incoming officer.  HRM Stephen instructed David to contact the local seneschal to assist.

                 v.     Having surgery on July 20^th, will be offline for a time.

                vi.     Baron Rodrigo will be trained as backupand successor.  Timing TBD.

g.   Tarrach (Minister of Arts & Sciences)

                   i.     Northshield A&S event in apx 1 month(St. Radegund’s Faire in Rivenwood Tower)

                  ii.     Currently fixing some inconsistencies inthe handbook

                 iii.     Ready to put Northstar and Mead, Meat, andMore online, when there are adequate submissions to warrant publication.
