September Missive

As we write this, our Royal Parents are away at Pennsic, and we are about to begin our last round of events as Heirs to the Gryphon Thrones-- Bardic Blades, Poor Man’s Pennsic, the Pas de Armes, Officers’ Day, and Bacchus to Rome. We look forward to seeing many of you at these events.
We are also deep into the planning for our Coronation and our Crown Tourney. Both of these have us excited, as you might imagine. Coronation is shaping up to have many guests from all over the Known World, and will serve as an excellent opportunity to get to know people from across our Society! There will be fighting of all kinds, archery and thrown weapons, an arts display on the theme of Progress, and singing! We have much word-fame we plan to spread that day, as well. Please, come join us, in Yankton, SD, for this grand occasion!
Our Crown Tourney rules were published last month, and letters of intent have begun to arrive. Remember that the deadline is 3 September, one week BEFORE Coronation Day. We plan to announce the accepted combatants and consorts in court at Coronation! Once again, we wish to stress that we want to see more than the double-handful of fighters who usually turn out for Crown Tourney. Ideally, we would love to see at least one combatant and consort from every barony, shire, canton, college and village in our kingdom! Come show us what you’re made of!
In addition to these two State Occasions, we have begun to set our autumn travel schedule. Right now, we expect that one or both of us will also be at Hrothgar’s Hall, Medieval Adventure, Danse
Macabre and Live by the Sword.
There are still many questions about our reign which can best be answered first by going to our website: <http://reign25.melm.org/>. If the answer you seek is not there, ask our Chamberlains:
<chamberlains-r25@northshield.org>.
We look forward to the day, soon to come, when we will be your Khagan and Bek, but for now, we remain, in service,
Hrodir and
Yehudah
