| My name is Conn mac Eoghainn. I have come back to these lands after an extended time abroad. Having left my ancestral home in the Highlands of Scotland to travel both the Known and Unknown world. Due to lack of life sustaining forms of employ, I was hired aboard the Pyrate ship "The Barking Spyder" captained by Admiral (then Captain) Gargamont the Austinite. While aboard, we found ourselves aligned with the barony of al-Barran, in the majestic yet sometimes brutal Kingdom of the Outlands. Having many adventures aboard, I found myself longing for a life on dry land. It was a little difficult at first to reconcile my life at sea with the good peoples of al-Barran, but due to good works and proving myself trustworthy, I was able to assimilate back into polite society. During my time there I had the pleasure of being the deputy of the Scorpion Herald THL Pendar the Bard, before his untimely passing. After this sad event, I assumed the position of the Scorpion Herald in his stead for Master Ryan and Mistress Tana until the end of their time as heads of the Barony. After that I had the pleasure of being the Herald for their successors, Sir Gregor and THL Monica the fair. Also, during this time I stood as a member of the Guard of the Baroness, where I ascended to the position of second in command. Meanwhile, I was refining my proficiency arts of Rapier fighting. To this end, I caught the eye of my mentor Uasal Oengus of the Grey mist, and became his student. Due to personal reasons out of my control, it was necessary that I became a hermit and was not among the populace of al-Barran for many years. |
