September 2011 Northwatch Missive

Just a few notes this month…

First, its report time again! Quarterlyreports are due on September 1. Thank you to those who have already submittedtheir reports.

I am accepting bids for the Spring2012 Crown Tournament, as well as Fall 2012 Coronation and Crown Tournament. Ifyou’re interested in putting in a bid, and need some guidance, please contactme at seneschal@northshield.org; I have some very fine folks ready to assistwith coaching groups the process of submitting a kingdom event bid.

The backup event for Fall 2011 CrownTournament will be Rhythm and Bruise in the Shire of Korsvag on November 5.

Finally, from every corner of thekingdom seneschals are reporting their concerns about recruiting and retentionof new members. Seneschals, if your group doesn’t have a chatelaine, pleasecontact the Kingdom Chatelaine, THL Isabella Beatrice della Rosa atchatelaine@northshield.org. Also, please take a look at how accessible yourgroup is to newcomers - can your email address be easily found? How aboutinformation on meeting times and places? Is your website up to date? Are youresponding promptly to requests for more information? I encourage you toconsciously endeavor to make your group as welcoming online as I’m sure you arein person!
