Greetings, Artisans of Northshield!
Autumn will be coming soon and with it, the opportunity to put into practice all the wonderful things we have learned over the summer war season. One of the greatest aspects of our Society is that we learn and then freely share our knowledge. Make it a personal challenge to teach at least one person something new this month or really take the plunge and develop and teach a new class!
While most events can accommodate one-on-one learning or even formal classes, if you want to be a part of a whole day of fabulous classes, we have the perfect venue for you! The Stellar University of Northshield (SUN) will be held in the Shire of Coldedernhale (Pierre, SD) on November 11, 2017. Consider coming out to learn something new, share your knowledge, or both! (If you are REALLY interested in SUN and classes, please also be advised that the SUN Chancellor is seeking a replacement to train during the preparation for the event – see the Help Wanted section elsewhere in this newsletter for details.)
If hands-on geeking is more your speed, please join us at the Griffin’s Needle Challenge October 20-21 in the Shire of Falcon’s Keep. It’s 20 hours of wall-to-wall sewing and geeky good times! There is an all-weekend meal plan, so you don’t need to think about food and can just focus on sewing like the wind. Teams are forming now – register soon!
Another excellent opportunity to showcase the great things we have learned is the Kingdom Arts and Sciences Competition. If your group may be interested in hosting the event (ideally February 10th, but that can be flexible), please contact me for details. Bids must be received by October 1, 2017.
