I am very happy to announce that the 2017 Northshield Kingdom Arts and Sciences Competition will be held in the Shire of Hvitskogar (Hurley, WI) on March 4, 2017! (Please note that this is off the “standard weekend of the second Saturday in February due to a conflict.) There is a basic website available at https://sites.google.com/site/hvitskogar/northshield-arts-and-sciencescompetition and more information, including sign-up forms, final judging criteria, and site details, will be available soon. Keep an eye on the Northshield Hall and this column for details as they are available.
As many of you know, research and documentation are my true geeky loves and I always advocate for doing your research BEFORE you begin a project. It makes your documentation quicker at the end, it helps you be confident that you are making good decisions about your project, and often it simply makes the process easier, either by providing exciting inspiration for your piece or illuminating the best way to approach the project.
